Historical map of the Weald

Where is 'The Weald'

The Weald is an area of outstanding natural beauty stretching from the Marshes of Kent through Sussex and into Surrey and Hampshire. The Weald is a hub of activity - ‘work, rest and play’ - which reflects a move away from commuting into big cities to work.

The Weald is more than just a South-East region

"It’s a city that isn’t a city, it’s a castle, a garden, a village, a town, a farm, a forest, a Roman road."

The Weald is a rich and diverse mix of culture, history, zest for business and talent. It's not just a place for those who were born or brought up here; it’s a place that welcomes people from around the world who come to live and work here.

John also talked about his family involvement with the Chinese Labour Corps in WW1 and his Uncle’s heroic achievements as a pilot who became the first Air Ace of WW2.  This is one not to miss…
